The challenge
MOTAC's public information was spread across an ageing portal that was difficult to navigate and harder to maintain. Citizens, tourism operators and media each needed different things from the same site, and none of them could find it quickly.
Our approach
We rebuilt the portal around task-based navigation rather than departmental structure — quick-access tiles for the eight highest-traffic destinations, a live tourist arrivals dashboard sourced from Tourism Malaysia, and a media and announcements system the ministry's own team updates without developer involvement.
What we built
- Task-based quick-access grid covering the eight most requested services
- Interactive tourist arrivals dashboard with year-on-year and country breakdowns
- Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign integration with an interactive state map
- Accessibility toolbar with text sizing and contrast controls
- Media centre and announcements managed entirely in-house
